The best way to solve the dating problem would be to eliminate dating.

I just want to be a housewife and live out in the country, but I feel like the kind of guy I want isn't on dating apps. I'm tempted to go volunteer at a ranch or something.

Thanks, Chris! It’s nice to e-meet you too.

I’m extremely inexperienced with the whole dating thing, but I will give it my best shot.

Chris, I hope you find the partner you seek. The AI thing is intriguing. I didn't know the Amish had so many choices!

We're in the Boston area now, but I want to move my kids back to Colorado Springs where there are youth groups with 100+ kids. Ha! It seems like Boston would be a hard place to find someone because of the intense need for status. My teens are blown away by the kids around here who say, "we're not poor but, 200K is enough to make it." lol

My husband and I met on eharmony 22 years ago. We've been married nearly 21 years. He was a full-time tennis teacher pro, and I was a high school teacher when we met. He works HR, and I'm a SAHM who homeschools. My co-worker also met her husband on eharmony. They've been married 19 years. He's hospital admin, and she homeschools after teaching hs chemistry and math. My college roommate is also married to her eharmony match. She is an engineer, and he is an electrophysiologist in Aspen, Colorado. My new friend here is an RN and met her husband on eharmony as well. A friend in TX also met her husband on eharmony. They own their own business. Also married over 20 years.

Have you looked in to compatibility via Myer's-Briggs?

Are you ISTP? or E/I STP?

Maybe you could teach a class for the Mass homeschoolers and get set up that way? Moms love to find matches. lol I'm ENFP, so excuse my laughing.

This is amazing. Thank you for this. I almost forgot to respond.

I acutally just got back from a wedding in Colorado Springs. It was lovely. I'd live there.

eHarmony sounds awesome. I don't think it's my demographic but it is proof that online services are useful haha. I just upgraded to Hinge Premium version yesterday for $50 and it's already a better experience. I think a part 3 of this series will emerge.

Btw, I love the idea of co-running/owning a business with my partner.

I have not done Myers-Briggs since college. I've been doing enneagram. E/I STP sounds about right - nice one.

Honestly I love the idea of teaching a class for homeschoolers as a guest speaker. Let's chat more about that

Just skimmed and will come back to go more in depth later...want to honor your openness around this topic, it's something me and a lot of guys definitely have on our minds and struggle with too, so appreciate your genuine story here. More to come, stay tuned...

Yo! Okay a few questions andreflections...

(1) It's wild that they're saying 1/6 of the dates are turning into "marriages" (LOL)! Do you believe that number? Do you know of anyone else using this? Have never heard of it but looks like exactly what we need. I'll be abroad for a bit but if I was stateside would sign up instantly

(2) How much is the payment to them if you get "married"? Wasn't clear to me.

(3) How did you end up staying with an Amish family? This is awesome. I love seeing other perspectives on life the Amish definitely have something figured out / they're being slower to "lose" what our society seems to have lost (slowness, connection, etc.).

(4) Agree with the artist the apps are totally addictive. My experience using them is I have met some really great women and they do "work" in some sense but I have always felt like a worse person while on them and like a monkey constantly pulling the lever (aka opening the app)

1 - I would like to talk to someone who has been successful with it. I’ll ask Wes.

2 - According to Wes it varies, he asked me not to disclose the exact price they quoted me so I put 1X,000

3 - I stayed with the Amish via the Amish BnB website. It’s a chapter in my book

4 - dating apps in general seem wildly inefficient, even if you pay for premium. Maybe 1 in 10 or 15 dates results in long term. Not sure the numbers on this.

Keep in mind that keeper is not automatic. Once you get through the long intake it’s 1-6 months to get a match. Not sure the average but I’d gets 6-8 weeks from starting the process to first date

When keeper.ai posts a bond to pay users' divorce losses in full, I'll listen closely to what they have to say...
