lol, robot Wal Mart greeters. Might not be a bad idea. I think we continue to see a fusion of robots with humans, like humans overseeing fleets of robots and intervening when necessary. Eg. robotaxis that need cleaning, repairs, maintenance, charging. Or robots in retail stores who are fuckin up stocking the shelves and what not. But i'm not sure of how it would work remotely. Is there an example already happening today?
Not that I am aware of--I guess if you don't count drone strikes.
Another zany, (potentially) less murderous example I am now thinking of might be like virtual drivers. So instead of a completely autonomous vehicle, you just hire a capable person in a different economy to drive your car for you like a video game.
Just seems like there's a world in which the atoms of some physical tasks become sufficiently bity that arbitrage opportunities emerge, similar to what we see now with purer information work.
He’s been self employed for a while. it’s a hard to go back to slavery, I mean employment.
But I think he will go to employment when he gets an offer of $15/hr or more. Almost everyone engages in wishful thinking around employment, I know I did. It always sounds better than it is. It generally sucks. I think he’ll do employment, then go back to self employment, then seriously try to get rich with the formula, if ever.
Advising Daniel on working online and getting rich is also me advising myself.
I am aiming for $100 million net worth, but not from buying other people’s businesses. From building my own. This excites me, so I know it’s my pathless path.
These observations are priceless!
Everyone would love to hire Daniel. He has no idea 😂
Lmao at the intro picture
Great final piece, Chris. Love the equation too!
I've wondered if there exists some economically viable middle ground
between robots with full AI brains, and in-person low wage jobs.
A kind of remote work beyond information work, via robotics. Remote Control Work.
Might be in core business functions like operating factory machinery,
but could also be in optimizing at the margins, like introducing some social interaction
to a previously cold transactional experience. A la robotic Walmart greeters.
